The much-anticipated IPADA Initiative Celebration 2024 delivered 10 days of unforgettable experiences, blending African culture, entertainment, and innovation. Hosted by La Campagne Tropicana Beach Resort in Lagos and spearheaded by Otunba Wanle Akinboboye, the event showcased the richness of African heritage while promoting unity and collaboration across the globe.

The celebration began on November 29 with a grand welcome featuring African delicacies like dundun (fried yam), akara, and palm wine. Attendees enjoyed lively performances by Atunda Entertainment, culminating in an all-night pool party with cultural dances, music, and a bonfire.
The formal opening on November 30 included a “Business Unusual Picnic” at the Founder’s Camp, where business leaders and royals discussed innovative ideas and signed key partnerships. The carnival parade showcased vibrant African and Caribbean cultures, featuring colourful costumes, dances, and music, emphasising unity amidst diversity.
One of the event’s standout moments was a three-day Artificial Intelligence (AI) training, attracting both youths and the elderly eager to learn new skills. Additionally, the Blossom Retreat, led by Prof. Remi Duyile empowered women with inspirational sessions fostering creativity and self-reflection.
The event facilitated ground-breaking partnerships, including a deal between the Republic of Vanuatu and La Campagne Tropicana to replicate the resort in Vanuatu, set to begin in 2025. Another partnership was signed between the African Diaspora Central Bank and Vanuatu, advancing economic ties. Tribal Tapestry, led by Prince Jon James Olomo, also launched a collaboration with IPADA for ancestral DNA testing.
The Festival of Creatives, led by world-renowned dancer Dr. Kaffy celebrated youth talent, while the Odigbose stage captivated audiences. The Nefertiti Queen of Africa Beauty Pageant crowned two ambassadors, celebrating African beauty and cultural pride.
Participants enjoyed a wide array of activities, including horse racing, football, power biking, African cooking lessons, sip ‘n’ paint, and traditional games like Ayo and Ludo.
The African International Music (AIM) Festival on December 7 featured performances by artists from across Africa and drew large crowds of students. The celebration ended on December 8 with a breakfast showcasing African culinary delights, leaving attendees with lasting memories of cultural pride and collaboration.
The 2024 IPADA Initiative Celebration was a resounding success, blending culture, entertainment, and innovation to celebrate Africa’s unity and potential.
