Ethiopian Airlines Group has entered into a strategic partnership with Nucore Technologies as part of efforts to deepen its digital transformation and strengthen its B2B distribution ecosystem.
Nucore Technologies specialises in software solutions that provide advanced back-office automation, integration, reporting and analytics capabilities for travel agencies, online travel agencies (OTAs), aggregators and corporate customers.
The collaboration marks a significant milestone in Ethiopian Airlines’ digital journey, positioning B2B distribution as a key strategic growth area.
Under the agreement, Ethiopian Airlines will expand access to its direct content through NDC-enabled distribution, while improving data transparency and operational efficiency for its partners.
The partnership is also aligned with global industry standards and modern airline retailing, offering scalable digital platforms designed to support future growth.
Commenting on the partnership, ET Holiday & Digital/GCIC Sales A/Vice President, Bilen Arefaine, said the airline remains committed to driving innovation across its services.
According to him, the collaboration with Nucore Technologies will enable partners to access Ethiopian Airlines’ direct content seamlessly, including NDC-based offers, ancillary services and hotel packages, supported by multiple payment options via the airline’s Agency Portal.
He added that Ethiopian Airlines would continue to lead industry-wide digital transformation through NDC adoption and close collaboration with technology partners to build a connected, future-ready distribution ecosystem.
At the centre of the partnership is Ethiopian Airlines’ Agency Portal, a robust platform designed to serve travel agencies, aggregators and corporate customers.
The portal currently supports over 2,000 active customers across more than 100 stations worldwide, providing extensive global reach and market coverage.
It is backed by 24/7 commercial and technical support, ensuring timely assistance for partners’ operational and business needs.
The integration of Nucore Technologies’ solutions is expected to further strengthen the Agency Portal by introducing more advanced reporting and analytics capabilities, enabling data-driven decision-making and improved business intelligence.
Industry analysts say the partnership reflects a broader shift among African airlines towards technology-driven distribution models that prioritise efficiency, transparency and direct engagement with trade partners.
By leveraging NDC standards and advanced analytics, Ethiopian Airlines is expected to enhance offer personalisation, optimise revenue performance and maintain its competitive edge in regional and international markets.
Observers also note that the collaboration aligns with Ethiopian Airlines Group’s wider digital roadmap, which focuses on innovation, operational excellence and customer-centric retailing, particularly as air travel demand continues to rebound across Africa and beyond.
The partnership further reinforces Ethiopian Airlines’ reputation as a leading force in airline technology adoption on the continent, underscoring its commitment to sustainable growth and long-term value creation for stakeholders.
