NAHCO is no longer just moving passengers’ luggage and airline cargo. The aviation handling giant is now helping power the global clean-energy supply chain from Nigeria.
In a major business expansion, the Nigerian Aviation Handling Company Plc announced that solar cells produced by BGE (Nigeria) Solar FZE are now being exported from Lagos to the United States through its cargo facilities, opening a new chapter in Nigeria’s non-oil export story.
The exports, which began in January 2026, have seen consignments of between 20 and 50 tonnes moved through international carriers including Lufthansa, Ethiopian Airlines, Turkish Airlines and DHL.
The development comes as NAHCO secured renewed contracts with major international airlines including Qatar Airways, Saudia Airlines and ASKY, while also adding FlyGabon to its growing portfolio of airline partners.
Industry observers say the dual achievements demonstrate how aviation infrastructure is increasingly supporting broader economic activities beyond passenger travel.
NAHCO provides cargo acceptance, warehousing, export processing and full aircraft handling services for the solar export project, ensuring smooth movement of products from Nigeria to international markets.
Group Executive Director, Commercial and Business Development, Prince Saheed Lasisi, said the company remains committed to exceeding the expectations of both existing and new partners.
According to him, the renewed contracts and emerging export opportunities reflect confidence in the company’s operational capabilities and reputation built over nearly five decades.
As airlines and exporters continue to seek efficient logistics partners, NAHCO appears to be positioning itself as a critical gateway connecting Nigerian businesses to global markets.
