With one era concluding and another beginning, Nigeria’s tourism private sector turns a new page as Aminu Agoha is entrusted with guiding the Board of Trustees
A significant leadership transition is unfolding within the Federation of Tourism Associations of Nigeria (FTAN), marking the close of one chapter and the opening of another in the organization’s governance journey.
Following the successful completion of an eight-year constitutional tenure by Alhaji Munzali Dantata, the Federation has unanimously nominated Alhaji Aminu Agoha as Acting Chairman of its Board of Trustees (BoT).
The decision was reached during the Federation’s recent Governing Council Meeting held in Abuja, where stakeholders reflected on the importance of continuity, experience, and renewed direction for the tourism sector.Agoha, who leads Vista Travels in Kano, brings with him decades of industry experience and institutional leadership.
His previous role as President of the National Association of Nigeria Travel Agencies (NANTA), as well as his current position as Chairman of its Board of Trustees, positions him as a bridge between past achievements and future aspirations within the tourism industry. In accepting the role,
Agoha acknowledged the confidence placed in him and emphasized his commitment to strengthening collaboration across the Federation, while supporting the ongoing Tourism Transformation Mandate (TTM)—a key framework aimed at repositioning Nigeria’s tourism sector for growth and competitiveness.
For industry stakeholders, this transition represents not just a leadership change, but a renewed opportunity to sustain progress and strengthen private sector participation in Nigeria’s tourism development.
