The Royal Senchi Hotel & Resort, one of West Africa’s leading luxury destinations, has been announced as the official hospitality partner for the 8th edition of the Accra Weizo Travel Conference, scheduled to hold on Friday, June 27, 2025, in Accra, Ghana.
This year’s event, themed “Re-Imagining the ECOWAS Free Movement Protocol,” will feature the West Africa Tour Operators Summit and bring together key players in the tourism, travel, aviation, and hospitality sectors to discuss strategies for enhancing regional integration and improving cross-border travel within West Africa.
The travel expo is organised by Akwaaba African Travel Market, in collaboration with the Ghana Tourism Authority, and is aimed at promoting tourism growth and cooperation across the sub-region. It will spotlight efforts to simplify travel within ECOWAS countries, harmonise tourism standards, streamline airport and border processes, and showcase professional service providers.
Delegates will also participate in a familiarisation tour of key tourism sites in Ghana, offering firsthand experiences to help tour operators develop compelling travel packages.
Speaking on the partnership, the Royal Senchi stated that its involvement reflects its ongoing commitment to supporting regional tourism. Nestled along the scenic banks of the Volta River in Akosombo, the Royal Senchi is known for its blend of natural beauty, traditional architecture, and modern hospitality. The resort features 84 luxury rooms set on 35 acres of lush greenery, offering guests a serene retreat and a premium venue for both leisure and corporate events.
Widely regarded as West Africa’s most romantic destination and a preferred site for high-level meetings, the Royal Senchi’s collaboration with Accra Weizo reinforces its role as a key stakeholder in tourism development across the region.
Accra Weizo continues to serve as a platform to drive dialogue and actions that support free movement, tourism integration, and economic cooperation in West Africa.
