RwandAir, Royal Senchi Back 8th Accra Weizo to Boost West African Tourism

Janefrances Chibuzor

RwandAir has partnered with the organisers of Accra Weizo to promote travel and tourism across Africa, marking a significant step toward strengthening regional integration. Accra Weizo, the West African travel expo established in 2015 by Akwaaba African Travel Market, will hold its 8th edition on June 27, 2025, in Accra, Ghana. The event, which champions seamless travel within West Africa, is being organised in collaboration with the Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA) and the Ghana Tourism Development Corporation (GTDC).

Tour operators from across West Africa are expected to gather for the annual forum, reinforcing Accra Weizo’s role as a hub for regional tourism professionals and stakeholders.

RwandAir, which has served Accra since July 2013, will play a vital role in the upcoming edition. The airline currently operates a Boeing 737 on the Accra route, offering three weekly flights on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. These services link Ghana to RwandAir’s extensive network through its hub at Kigali International Airport, enabling connectivity to destinations in Africa, Europe, the Middle East, and Asia.

The airline’s partnership with Qatar Airways further expands its global reach, while its collaboration with Africa World Airlines enhances domestic and regional connectivity within West Africa. These partnerships reflect RwandAir’s dedication to improving travel links and supporting tourism growth across the continent.

In a related development, the prestigious Royal Senchi Hotel & Resort has also announced its partnership with the organisers of Accra Weizo. Situated along the tranquil banks of the Volta River in Akosombo, the Royal Senchi is widely regarded as one of West Africa’s premier luxury destinations. Known for blending traditional aesthetics with modern hospitality, the resort is set to host key participants and events during the conference.

By aligning with Accra Weizo, the Royal Senchi reinforces its commitment to regional tourism development, providing a world-class environment that reflects the growing stature of the event.

The 2025 edition of Accra Weizo is poised to further its mission of uniting West Africa through tourism, supported by strategic partnerships with key industry players like RwandAir and the Royal Senchi.
