The British High Commission in Nigeria and Manufacturing Africa have hosted an Investor Night in Lagos, where six Nigerian startups from the UK-funded Green Business Building (GBB) Accelerator Programme pitched their climate-focused innovations to potential investors.

The event, held on 25 November 2025, marked the culmination of 16 weeks of intensive training, advisory support and mentorship aimed at strengthening green manufacturing enterprises and helping them attract investment.

The participating startups — GreenSpace Recycling, Sirius-X Energy, Auxano Solar, Taeillo, ZOOMe and Veggie Victory — showcased solutions spanning renewable energy, recycling, clean mobility, organic agriculture and sustainable product design. Venture capitalists, impact investors and sector stakeholders assessed the pitches and provided feedback, with some expressing interest in future funding discussions.

The pitch-den–style event offered each founder a platform to highlight their business models, climate benefits and growth potential. For the startups, the evening was a crucial opportunity to secure partnerships that could help them scale nationally and regionally.

Attendees included the UK Deputy High Commissioner to Nigeria, Jonny Baxter, alongside representatives of the British High Commission and prominent players in Nigeria’s sustainability and manufacturing ecosystem.

The accelerator, funded by the UK government, aims to drive investment into Nigeria’s emerging green industries while strengthening the country’s manufacturing base. It forms part of broader UK–Nigeria cooperation to support small and medium-sized enterprises and generate new jobs through environmentally responsible industrial growth.

Speaking at the event, Simon Field, Deputy Head of Mission at the British Deputy High Commission in Lagos, praised the quality of the pitches. He said manufacturing holds enormous potential for Nigeria’s future and noted that the showcased startups demonstrate how industrial growth can be green and globally competitive.

Manufacturing Africa’s Nigeria Country Lead, Kemi Onabanjo, described the evening as a celebration of progress and connection, stressing that the programme helps founders refine their ideas while linking them to investors capable of accelerating their growth.

Some of the founders also reflected on their experience in the accelerator. Jumoke Dada, CEO of Taeillo, said the programme provided practical guidance that sharpened her company’s strategic direction. ZOOMe’s CEO, Adedayo Odunlami, praised the advisory team’s diligence, noting that the support helped transform both the business and its leadership approach.

The Investor Night signals the first major milestone for the GBB Accelerator’s inaugural cohort, with expectations that the showcased companies will go on to attract new capital and partnerships in the coming months as Nigeria’s green manufacturing ecosystem continues to expand.
